School is Starting Once Again

Yes, new modules, new classrooms, new groups… work ended two days ago, burning one day of my leave so as to get the work done before silently evacuating myself from the place). This one month attachment has been a smooth and quiet one as its the holiday month of december. Been running alot with the guys and did tons of pushups and chinups, training in slacks and boots really takes alot of loose flabs away from the thighs and abs… however, the holiday season was not without any damages yea? I wun hold back when it comes to good food!!! but then i’ll carry out the necessary mitigating actions so that i dun balloon up too much..muahahaha!! run of course!

And, after reading WJ’s comments, may i extend my apologies to all who are concerned about me for not announcing the end of my singlehood… paiseh paiseh. And also, I did not disappear into thin air, just spending more quality time together with KIWI, I’m very happy and grateful to have you with me…love you very much darling~! (^-^)

Gonna ask brothers out for a gathering one of these weekends, been long enough that we haven’t met… Wish you all the best in this New Year!!

The Exams Are Over Again

Yes, at least for me anyway… However, work starts on 4th december which is like, 3 days in between right now and then. So much for holidays eh? Life is tough, time is precious, striving against the odds. Not so good to finish exams so early, somehow everyone is still having exams…wish all of you the best of luck still!!!

Gotta start working out myself for work soon, it’ll be a shame for a combatant to be unfit. So I planned to go swimming, running, and etc… the usual stuffs that I do before going back to work everytime la. Good for me also as I always make use of this chance to get back in shape, reduce the tummy, stuff like that… somehow look better too! muahahaha!! My No.4 is running out of colour already, some still lacks the badges…gotta get it done before going back to work.

Okay, the last time I measured running from home to Macritchie and back was like 13 km… pretty good work out, running at night reduces heat fatigue too… Luckily got run abit with static exercises during exam period, plus the reduction of ciggs and beer, can pretty much attain good speed…WooHA!! Yes….remember….OFBS2? Hahaha!!! It almost succeeded until the exams came along… Damn damn!! Going to receive the usual "eh…you got fat liao leh" comments back in camp again…Grrr. Sucks that I have to transit myself between soldiering and schooling, gives me an on off halfway here and there feeling everytime, switching from one to another before even being able to focus well on the current.

Yes!! To the Roads!!!

Exam Period Is Here Again

Indeed, getting more and more old bird when it comes to exams… somehow no longer feel the rush and potent kicks that comes with the dreaded paper. Am I getting old or simply couldn’t care much about it? Well, education pays only when you’re the cream of the crop, scholars it is, and to each his own individual field it lies; obviously, I’m not in mine….so i’ll have to continue muggin and seek greater good in life still…

Exams give me a feeling of isolation in society, it seems that I’m suddenly cast aside with no one bothering me and myself having no one to bother with. Lost it seems, with a seemingly unimportant goal of studying hard for the illusion of an examination. This feeling, as much as I hate it, is also the prelude to the joy there is to accompany after the exams. Somehow it seems that ‘joy’ is quantified and lessened in these days coming to the exams and stacked upon the days after it. It seems to give some economic sense to reduce what you have now to put it to a later date and then receiving it in larger lumps later; so instead of monotony, we placed tides of high and lows in life just so as to make it more valuable…more interesting. Basic paradyne of truth: "life, when summed up, is all the same…"  I know you guys having a tough time studying too, all the best guys~!

When the exams are over, there are alot of things to do, some work, some personal and some things special too… ;) Missing someone dearly here…

Received my posting for this semester holidays, Going to Kranji Camp, 4 SAB (Singapore Armour Brigade) as the usual Project Officer. These days, there are no longer many familiar faces around in camp, many have left the service, for better or for worse, I do wish them all the best.

Time for the 1k servicing

Yes, and for the matter-a-fact, its way past 1k already, going to hit 1.2k by the time i go for the first servicing appointment on thursday. Bills are coming in, from DBS for the car loan, Singtel, Insurance Premiums… Year and everyone is hungry ba, send so many love letters. Projects and homeworks are coming on and quizes are finally over, exams starting in less than 3 weeks time, dunno why am i still here blogging and typing crap…probably I couldn’t give much shit about it after 2 years already. Also, I think i’ll need them to check on the suspension and alignment of the steering wheel if possible, kinda sucks that a new car actually has such annoying faults, not that it affects drivability but i just couldn’t stand the least bit of imperfection since the car is so new at less than 2 weeks old. Had my second full tank today, at a distance of 513km, it took on 40.6L of fuel; so it works out to be around 12km/L, not bad for I’m in traffic jam almost every morning, left the car idling for as long as 3 hours for a few times, tried out the pick up from 0-100km/h for a few times. Pretty good fuel economy, should be even better after the servicing on thursday ba.

Went to visit my 3rd aunt today, bought her some portugese egg tarts and handed her a luggage bag she sent for repair sometime ago. Her husband is down with cancer and she actually quit her high paying job in Mindef to stand by him all the time. Couldn’t offer much help but lend a listening ear and assured them to give me a call anytime they need someone in an emergency, since I got a car, can help anytime. Kinda twist of fate, when she was supposed to be enjoying retirement soon. Wish her all the best and good health! :)

Hmmm…. been smoking much lesser these days; less than a pack every 2 weeks now. Drinks are at moderate level, new found interest with the introduction of Hoegarden by WH and ANT on sunday night. Thankful that WH and ANT is around and supportive, couldn’t do without them. At the same time I’m apologetic that I’ve been ignoring them for some other things and made them so worried, very sorry about it, I really appreciate that you guys are so concerned about me, thank you!

A Step Unto A Step

Yes, I got my ride!!! the lancer is finally here!! strikingly white in color, toned down by the rain these few days. Getting used to the manual gears already, can pretty much drive it to make the passengers feel that it is an automatic car. I love the fuel consumption!! i figure full tank it can go up to 650km, so far with the meter at half tank level, i clocked 350km. Think the meter is abit slow to react when at the full tank mark so i doubt it can reach 700km for full tank, 650km is a decent number. So far, no accessories, no nothing in the car yet. First thing to buy should be car wash shampoo, sponge, pails and rubber matts for the boot. Hope the new car smell will last longer, its great! travelled alot since i received the car, about 480km liao, in just 5 days. But its good that i am fully utilizing the car, makes it more worth to travel; coz imagine i made the same trip on a taxi, waiting time and cost during rush hour. Some minus points are the parking, which is very difficult to find in singapore especially free ones. School parking can be free if i arrive before 830am, or can go to Raffles Hall, so not a problem yet.

Feel like asking the whole world out, but at the same time felt that i would be like so boasting about the new car if i do, so i’ll just keep it down unless the occasion arises to meet people ba.

I think it is false that when you have a car, alot of girls tend to look to you. So far, i haven’t any leh…hahaha! Anyway, there is already someone in mind, not to mention so that it wun be jinxed like previous ones. Take things slowly first ba, shall not be too obsessed with her, need to find a distraction, else she’ll probably suffocate even before being together with me…am i too fast? hope not.

AND!! I haven been exercising for two weeks straight liao. Can see my face bulging big and the tummy screaming to give birth to another planet. Arla… OFBS2 is on the brink of failure!!!!….exams coming somemore, makes things worse.

Up the Tempo babes~

After 2 weeks of Absence

I’m back to my bloG!! Ya, an apologie to all the fans who love reading my blog, been busy lately so I haven’t really been writing much crap here. Rather, I have been writing essays and essays and doing lab reports after lab reports. Thanks to the Archi module I’m taking, I guess I can consider myself a little more cultured than the brash brute I was before, now at least I know somethings about art pieces, in renaissance, romanticism, neo-classicism, impressionism, expressionism, cubist…etc etc… lovely module isn’t it. School work is getting heavier, probably coz exams are nearing also…the faculty is getting emptier by the day as people start to stay home to do self-study instead. Time I hit the books hard too ba…

While I was absent from blogging, OFBS2 was on hold a while too, nevertheless, I’ve been doing the stair thingy for the past 2 days again, but seeing the haze clearing outside, I figured I might begin jogging around lower pierce again, caustrophobic of the stairwell soon. Last weigh in… 90.2kg from the health and wellness centre, 85kg mark seems so close yet so far….argh~! Work hard!!

Just registered my car on sunday, i should be able to get it within 10 days after registration as claimed by the sales girl. Both excited and anxious about my new car…. would I be able to continue my current lifestyle? are there any expenses I missed out in my calculations? how am i going to best utilise the car?…i guess it will all be answered best in due time rather than prodding about it…so, come what may.

All the way dudes~!!…:)

Operation Fat Boy Slim Continues

Yes, thanks to the haze, I’ve been trapped indoors for my regime. I’ve received comments that I look slack rather than fit (I guess its common coz most people get surprised with ‘wah! you so big size can run so fast do so many push up and still do pull ups ah?!!’) Eh, I look weak and fat meh? Hell… Nevertheless, thanks to the haze, I’ve not been jogging, rather, I’ve been engaged in something more potent….stair climbing!!! omg, suddenly I feel I’m so harsh on myself. My house is on the 14th floor, so essentially, I climb 13th storeys (20 steps between each storey) for every lap. I did 5 laps in a controlled 25min..down up down up down up down up down up; sweat like hell!! coz the air is not moving in the stairwell (though it is cleaner than the air outside). My butt, thighs, calf and ankle are aching!!! argh~!! it doesn’t hurt this much even if I did a 8km jog. But very good la, the aches and sores are like catalyst to remind myself that I used to love feeling this way….in physical pain…oh~ yea~! Of course, I always maintain a full body workout, so after torturing my legs, I went on to do flutter kicks, butterfly kicks and crunches, 100 counts each!! the philipino maid waiting for her employer’s kids at the lobby was watching me groan in pain, and swiftly secured the kid and evacuated the area from a man in violent pain. And the push ups, 3 sets, 20-40-20. Whole ordeal took me 1 full hour. As usual, I puked after that… I love it! but sometimes it is very hard to dedicate that 1 hours to it, coz sometimes my school ends at 6pm… sigh. Anyway, OFBS2 progress is going up and down all the time…hahahaha 95kg last weigh in. Need to shed 10kg to hit target….die la!!! I think I’ll eat Extrim for lunch and citric acid for dinner….lose the flabs!! I strongly feel that its not the amount of exercise that’s the prob, but the amount and timing of my meals, especially dinner @ 830pm and I go to bed around 11pm. very bad Idea hor. Hmmm…. it’s gonna hurt, but no pain no gain!!! argh~!!!!! KILL KILL KILL!!!!!

Save Fuel (reposted)

Driving in Singapore is getting expensive, with rising prices for erp,car parking and fuel. Here, I have come to be ‘enlightened’ on some ways of driving to save fuel without any modifications done and are simple to do:

1) Keep below 2500rpm when cruising; well, 2500rpm is more than enough to hit 100km/h already, it gives the perfect balance of mileage for rpm.

2) Close Window; air drag is proportional to velocity and at high speeds, it is proportional to the square of velocity at high speed, so keeping your window closed helps your car to cleave through the air more efficiently.

3) Reduce weight; dun put unnecessary stuffs in your veh, spare tires are a must, but you do not need a water tank, Dumbbells or a large stack of newspaper in the boot.

4) No body kits; who are you trying to impress with all the GT wings and gigantic front lip, side skirts and bumper? All these add weight and put on more air drag for the car when travelling.

5) Keep aircon low; dun need too cold a temperature to feel comfortable, the alternater saps power from the engine to run the aircon, if going at very low speeds below 50km/h, you can actually switch off the aircon open your window instead.

6) Easy on the accelerator; dun depress your accelerator immediately after releasing the brakes, let your car roll naturally a while before sloooowly tapping on the accelerator.

7) Easy on the brakes; no point getting speed when you are going to shrug it off with brakes, there is no need to corner so slowly as you can actually simply let the car ‘glide’ thru a corner and retain most of the speed accumulated.

8) Anticipate Junctions; dun accelerate so much when you already see it’s red light in front. Sometimes if you anticipate well enough, you will find that your car will probably never stop at any red light on your way to the destination.

9) Best line; one of the racing techniques, you can use when there are no car on the road. Simply keep left when cornering left and keep right when cornering right. Key is to take the shortest route.

10) Neutral Gear; even for auto cars, you can try to engage neutral gear when approaching a red light or going downhill, helps your car to retain or gain speed better without loading on fuel.

11) Work overtime for 1/2 hour; if you have nothing on after work, might as well spend 30min in the office longer to do your stuff, impress your bosses and get to drive on a clear road. Ever noticed how the road suddenly become so packed and then all the cars suddenly disappear? Its called the rush hour.

12) Keep your tire pressure higher; higher tire pressure would mean lower performance for corners, however an under-inflated tire will mean more traction and more resistance during cruising as well. Tires slightly over-inflated are still safe for use and can allow the car to ‘glide’ further and better too.

Some of it takes practices and judgement…. some just plain common sense. No point speeding and trying to chase up to the person who cut your path or highbeam you. Being thick skinned allows better blood pressure and saves fuel too!

Getting into fights (reposted)

Yes, again another repost…

Was watching alot of video clips on people fighting in the streets, something fresher instead of the boring pornography. Catfights included. It was especially interesting to see how easy it is to knock people out cold!! Indeed, nobody wants to get embralled in a fight. but when you do, you should always remember the above 8 steps, derived after watching hundreds of fight clips. Remember, it’s either you getting into a fight, or you getting beated shit in a fight. We try not to do the 8 steps unless people really ask for it, yea?

Well, here are the 8 steps to follow when you decide to take down the man:

Step 1) See how many friends your opponent has; very important!! There was one clip that shows someone giving a punch to a guy whom happens to have a 350 lb friend who returned the favour…heavily!

Step 2) See how big your opponent is; There is no david and the goliath in the real world, even if there is…you will find that david is infact a much larger person than goliath..

Step 3) Observe around for usable weapons; Yes, it’s a street fight man, there is no restrictions on it, the main objective is to secure a swift and decisive victory over your opponent. Of course avoid sharp objects, use only lightweight chairs, poles, bottles and nothing stabbing.

Step 4) Strike first, Strike hard; From the videoclips, the first guy who strikes is always the winner. Strike when least expected, go for the head, throat or obdominals right under the rib-cage. This requires an all-out approach where the heavist blows are dealt. It will be very fast and no stopping until someone is down on the floor begging for mercy or out cold. Most fights lasts less than 15 secs, it only takes one good blow to knock the bugger out. Do not be afraid to beat the crap out of the person, the human is very easily knocked out, but it is not so easy to kill by untrained bare knuckles.

Step 5) Follow up Strike; Do not allow him or her to stand up, additional blows would ensure a secured victory. Smash heavier objects such as tables on him or her or you can simply give a kick in the face, obdominals or lower back. Make sure the lights are out or there is adequate pain to ensure zero retaliation.

Step 6) Strike Somemore; Yes, there is no hero in streetfights, so what if he is down? This time you can use lighter blows on more sensitive areas, e.g side of upper torso, groin..etc. This is more for psychological effect, ensures that you have brutalised him or her enough that he will not want to fight you again in future.

Step 7) Escape; Yes, leave the ambulance calling to the other people looking around, get out of the vicinity. Find a new shirt or something. Staying to savour the win will result in you paying for the damage done to the pub, club or restaurant. Or get into a very sticky situation when the cops arrive. Once again, this is a street fight, you achieve your objective (take down the man) and you get out, quick.

Step 8) Reorganise and Resupply; Check yourself for any damage, you dun wan to go home and while showering discover a parage sticking out from your back. Find some new clothes and have a good warm meal at home. No more staying out in the streets. Getting together with your friends would be a good idea too! besides being able to brag about your win, you can also have protection in numbers!

(Disclaimer: The writer does not guarantee a win in street fights even if the 8 Steps are followed. Results may vary. If symptoms appear, please stop the use of 8 Steps and consult a doctor immeadiately.)
